Been looking to get a china quad and wondering what the best places to buy one online would be versus buying locally?
And are specific brands more trustworthy than others?

Welcome aboard! Are you looking for 2x4 or 4x4? Venom Motorsports who is one of the best dealer to deal with carries a nice 300cc 4x4. https://www.venommotorsportsusa.com/products/predator-300cc-full-size-atv-4wd-manual-transmission
Also carries a much less expensive 169cc 2x4 https://www.venommotorsportsusa.com/products/200cc-venom-kodiak-atv-crt200-1

2x4 or 4x4 would work since I dont plan on running it into the ground but I also interested to see which models are more reliable
Given the fact that Im not a small guy and its mostly gonna be used for helping with yard work and the like but nothing to extreme

You can see in my signature I have a 2014 Coolster150. That little bike has ran perfect all those years. Only thing I've replaced were the battery and some brake pads. The GY6 engines are very reliable no matter what brand bike.

I've been looking at the tao motor rhino or the kodiak listed on venom but Im not sure which one would work better. I know I have someone local that gets the taos in and there fully assembled but the markup on them is pretty high

The Rhino will be a vertical CG200 engine with a manual transmission and the Kodiac will be a horizontal GY6 engine with an auto transmission. The Rhino will be more of a work horse whereas the Kodiac will be more for just riding pleasure. Either one will be a good choice.

I would say there okay. We haven't heard anything bad about them. Just stay way from any of the "Manny' Owned companies like TXpowersports and Arlington motorsports. I'm sure there are a few others he owns as well. Some people have had no issues with TXpowersports but the ones that had problems with there bikes got no after sales support.

Check with Don Hopper. I bought my Hawk and UTV from him. Really nice guy to deal with. More than willing to answer any question you may have. He does have a shop in Sardis, TN What he has on his website is drop shipped from other warehouses. https://www.shopapmc.com/ATV_c_1.html

If your looking to do a little yard work maybe by pulling a cart, you have to make sure it has the ability to mount a hitch.I was looking at the new Bull 200's and they don't have a place for a ball hitch or any hitch for that matter.

A bunch of us on here made DIY hitches... they work great just don't use the angle iron from the TaoTao crate (soft steel) Made this one for my Rhino.

My 2019 Bull 200 come with a place to mount a ball but I went one more and bought a feral hitch plate from Amazon which allows a ball and a pin hitch to be used.I pull my lawn sweeper sometimes with my atv and it has the pin hitch. The ball allows you to throw a chain around it for pulling trees and limbs, very handy to have a hitch.
