I ordered a flywheel puller from Amazon to use on my TBR7 when I do the engine mods. It is one of those with a 27mm end, and a 24mm end, and a bolt running through it .I knew that the 24mm, and 27mm piece would not be of any use, but I thought I had seen somewhere that the center bolt of the puller by itself could pull the flywheel. On the Facebook page someone asked about a puller, and evidently it takes a 16mm-1.5 thread bolt type puller. I measured the bolt from my puller, and it's 14 mm. Is it correct that it takes a 16mm? And can I just buy a bolt? , And if so how much if the shank needs to be threaded? Thanks

I considered myself to try and get the bolt and DIY my own, but it turned out cheaper just getting the proper tool from ebay at the time.
Unless you have a decent hardware store nearby. By the time you included shipping there's no major cost saving.

It's an M16, but I can't remember the thread pitch off hand. I will try to dig around and find it unless somebody else manages to answer it before me.

Some Chinese bikes including my old Lifan have a front axle with the correct thread size to pull the flywheel so in a pinch you can pull the axle and use it to remove the flywheel.

Yep on the axle trick, that started with Honda. I thought it was the rear axle, you can try both of they're different sizes.
