I am wondering if any Apollo Z40 owners can answer this question. Does the Z40 really come with a 22mm carb? As this seems really small for a YX140cc engine. I would think it should be at least 26mm or 28mm.

The specs say this has a 22mm Nibbi PE22 carburetor

When I look at the specs for the smaller 125cc Apollo Z20 they list a 26mm PZ26 carburetor

So why would the Z40 being a larger engine have a smaller carb?

It might be that the way the PZ vs the PE carbs are designed, that the intake opening can't really be compared directly.

The PE22 is a smooth bore carb whereas the PZ26 tapers down at the carb slide. actual flow will be close to the same.

Do you know if there are charts available from Keihin (PE carb) or Mukini (PZ carb) that show the flow coefficients based on size?

Also don't these carbs have different mounting flange bolt dimension? and if so tht means I would not be able to interchange between the two makes without changing the intake manifold.

Unless I was to install some sort of intake that could take both kinds ... like this:
