Thanks not a gear lever but the kick start. It's CVT belt drive. Only gears you have are forward, neutral and reverse. Gear shift lever will be on the other side.

That’s a gy6 engine ,they come in many different varieties including air cooled liquid cooled ,long case ,short case ,and 50cc up to 250 cc possibly more .Hope that helps .
