I just happened to notice today when i pulled into work that the rear brake caliper is missing the main bolt and washers that connect the line to the caliper!!! All brake fluid is gone and the line is just hanging there!!

Anybody have any ideas on where to get a new one?? or one off another bike??

Thanks
Jared

You rode all the way to work and did'nt notice till ya got there!!!! 8O 8O

Maybe that front bolt is the same size........

EDIT: I have never seen one of those slowly work it's way out!!!!! As soon as it gets loose, You should loose your rear brake.

Make sure it's not broken off in the caliper....

any part store , home depot, ace hardware, that carry mm bolts, take one off the front and go match it up, i did that but had to cut the length, still using today

I've thought about replacing mine with one of these(Banjo bolt with switch) (http://www.pegasusautoracing.com/productdetails.asp?RecId=5029) but all you need to do is find another banjo bolt the right size and the correct washers and clean it all up put it together and bleed it and should be good to go.

I'd think the front one would be the same size as the rear one you need.

I dont know first hand where you'd get the right one but they arn't as difficult to get as you might think.

I probably have one here. Most of them from any jap bike will fit. Auto parts stores probably have them too.

I think they are a 12mm.

thanks for all the info, well its not broke off in the caliper, and it is a 12mm bolt but can anyone tell me a thread size and a length. I just want to get one from the hardware store, poke a hole in it and cut it to length and call it good

well if you dont want to take the one off the front caliper which you should do,,,,,,

take the caliper off the back and take it to ace and size it up there , or a auto parts store they usualy have a bolt bin isle, might be longer

so take yur dremmel tool and cut to length, drill yur hole and ola

Not sure if that's gonna work??

I think the shoulder on a Brake line bolt is a little different design....

Be sure of the thread pitch !
Metric has umpteen thread pitches for the same size bolt.
Not just coarse,fine,pipe.

Just go buy a banjo bolt and the two copper washers. No need to do any cutting or drilling.

You should be able to get one from an auto parts store.
