Hi all,
Got my bike back from the shop (carb stuff). In the ride home I noticed the front left turn signal isn’t working. It’s only got 900 miles on the bike.

Any pointers on what might be the issue?

Thanks!

Since it is only one turn signal light failing, the problem is either the light itself, or the connection. You will probably need to remove the front headlamp and trace the wires from the light to the connections. One is common (both left and right are connected to the same wire), and the other is unique (left connector). Hopefully, it's just loose.

If the wires are solidly connected but the left turn signal just doesn't light up, reverse the unique wires so that when the switch is in the left position, it drives the right turn signal light, and in the right position, the left should blink. If the right light works in left switch position, and the left turn signal light still fails, then the light itself is probably blown.

Since it is only...

Thanks for the reply, Thumper. That’s solid troubleshooting advice.

Since the bike was just worked on, hopefully it’s just a loose connection.

I'd bet on a loose wire. My tail light went out in a few hundred miles, but I know that's the incandescent one so it wasn't incredibly surprising. Being an LED, the chances of that itself going bad is slim. Maybe the shop you took it to would be able to take a quick peek again?
