Last time I was working on my bike I forgot to secure the spark plug wire and it touched the exhaust and melted. I spliced it back together for a patch job but obviously I want to replace it. Where can I get another one or is the a known compatable one? Thanx

you can get a full plug wire and a good cap from any motorcycle shop. they are a universal fit a ngk cap will probably be a better cap than the funky steel ones we have on these bikes.

just unscrew your wire from the coil and take it into the shop so you can be sure. of the wire diameter and legnth.

NGK offers a plug wire splicing kit. It's available at most auto parts stores. I have used them before and they work very well.

Don't Splice!
New plug wire from coil.
Do whatever is necesary to insure square threading....
The insides of a carbon plug wire is really very brittle and the littlest amount of "jimmy-ing" it on will weaken your spark, nevermind the Tightness/longetivity/waterproofing of the connection.

Moved my clip to the bottom. Bike now idles perfectly. Also turning out the fuel screw to 2-2.5 turns will make it run better.

I also have a 108 main jet and a UNI pod filter with a pretty much open exhaust.

That s not the idle screw on the carb is it?
If not where would I find this magic fuel screw

The fuel screw is commonly called an idle screw. Same difference.

I noticed while I was looking at the stock wire in the pitch dark i could see tiny little miniscule sparkage peppered in there randomly all over the wire and boot. The bike runs fine (i think) it doesn't miss. IS THIS NORMAL?

I'm not too sure what you are asking but I don't think it's normal

Crappy wire, not a big deal but a quality replacement would not hurt.
Do You get zapped if You touch it?

I am referring to the screw on the bottom front of the carb. It is tough to reach unless you remove the carb. I may have the wrong name for it, but it is not the idle screw on the upper right side.

Maybe the correct name is the mixture screw.
