Hello all
Great site with tons of info that has assisted me in making decisions about which bikes to get, who to buy from and mods to make. I ended up purchasing from powermax, 2 bikes one Templar for my son and a templar x for me, should be picking them up in Las Vegas at a friends house since they cannot be sold in california. Truly enjoyed all the info and support.
Looking forward to getting the bikes for some fun riding with my son.

Howdy from midcontinent. These Templars are nice. Work out the shipping and component issues, if there are any, and you end up with amazing bikes. You and your son will have FUN! :hi:

Mine starts and runs like a Honda. Not surprising considering the lineage!

Thanks everyone, should be picking them up on the 22nd if everything goes as expected, then heading back to socal to put them together.
Already ordered:
Nibbi 28 carb, looking to jet it, trying to narrow it down for an elevation of about 500-1000 feet? Thoughts? 125/38?
NGK plug
Going to Run the Rotella T6 in them
Magnetic oil plug
And the blue loctite for the bolts.

The bikes arrived on Friday, shipping was perfect, no damage on opening, son is excited. We are going to put them together, me working on mine and him on his, good teaching and learning experience for him and I. We started on Sunday, 24 Dec. worked for a few hours, will be done today. Will post some photos.

Fantastic! Great timing... Merry Christmas to your son (and you too) !!

These bikes come with an excellent smoothbore card that just needs jets bumped up one step. They'll need full choke to start because they are jet lean, and they will pop on decel excessively for the same reason.

Carb access and jetting info (including how to find the jets) is here:

https://www.chinariders.net/showpost.php?p=389759&postcount=4

AND, shim the needle in the carb while you are in there, and set those valves:

https://www.chinariders.net/showpost.php?p=389779&postcount=5
https://www.chinariders.net/showpost.php?p=393474&postcount=21

Properly jet and with a shimmed needle, it is perfect. An aftermarket carb won't make it faster or more powerful. If you don't want the carb, please let me know.

Just got back from the first ride with the son, clocked over 100 miles of desert riding in both hard and soft sand, up hills, through river washes, lots of bumps and whoops and a few small jumps. The bikes performed awesome, in fact going to purchase another one for the youngest son. While out at ocotillo wells riding, I saw no other templars, had a few questions about it. One guy asked where I got it, told him and about this website, said he was thinking about getting one for his son. We are heading back out there during presidents weekend and hoping to put another 100 miles or so on it. So far impressed, n o carb change yet, will keep you posted thumper if I actually install the nibbi, the stock one has been so far so good. Thanks again everyone for the info and help. Happy riding.
