I have the bike pretty much together except the handguards, but I have alot of left over screws and washers. They all look superficial but the nagging question in my mind is "WHAT IS THIS BIG F'EN 19mm NUT DOING HERE!
Seriously: I have a big chrome 19mm nut and it has no place to go.... Scary....

I think someone should do an assembly video to guide everyone ordering crated bikes or maybe one of the dealers when they get one in.

I have the same big nut that came with my Komoto. I have no idea what it is for. When we first got the bikes, one of the nuts fell out of the box. We actually went back to the freight company to get the nut, only to not use it.

Axle nut, maybe?

Axle nut, maybe? It's probably the nut off of the front axle, as Dragon said. Mine was bolted into the crate using a chrome nut, but there was actually a color-matched "green" one to go on the axle during assembly.
you take all the extra bits and pieces including the 19mm nut and place in an old sock. you then use that sock to beat away the hooligans.

I think it's a front axle nut too. The dark one was attached to the axle on the crate so I used that one.
Given the subject, I was thinking there would be a few humorous responses like: "Are you sure it's not the nut behind the handlebars"? hehehe...

My assembly instructions stated that I was to remove the nuts (both front and rear) used to attach the bike to the crate, and replace them with the ones provided in the package, which I did. I only had 2 small bolts w/ nuts left over, in addition to the 2 axle nuts and the crate hardware.
If you used the one holding your bike to the crate, I would replace it with the one you have leftover (assuming it fits).

I'm pretty sure it's an axle bolt. But I will put the handguards on eventually. Specially since you brought up the "chickens" angle. hehehe!
