Greetings:

New to the forum and I am looking to get a motorcycle to mostly commute to work. I used to ride many years ago but not recently so I am out of touch with current bikes.

I have read a little about the Zongshen Sierra 200 and it looks like it would meet my needs if I could get California plates for it. Does anyone know if it is or can be made street legal for California?

Thanks,

Ken

CA is a tough one for these China bikes. You should call your local DMV with the bike specs you are looking at and verify it with them. There are NOT many Chinabikes that meet the strict CA laws.

Do your homework before you buy. I do know if anyone has done it yet, (homework before buying) but it's good advice.

I'm pretty sure the 07B's that I got are. They have all the smog stuff with the cat and had the green dot (CARB) on the outside of the box they were shipped in. Plus, Goldenvale is in Ontario, CA so it might make sense to have bikes that are legal in the state they ship from.

I have a Viva vx200s from Nitromotors in California, from what I know this bike is legal for sale in California, Im sure they could tell you for sure if its street legal over there!
