Rear brake caliper bolt identification (Templar X)

My rear brake caliper has one bolt that is way too tight from factory, and it's now stripped. The head of it is a 4mm set screw and only that portion is threaded. What do you call this style of bolt? A ton of bonus points if you know where to get one, but I'd settle for knowing what to look for.

A replacement caliper may be easier than extraction and would be my fallback plan. I see the entire rear caliper on Zuumav's parts diagram (https://chinariders.net/showpost.php?p=412045&postcount=1) under Handlebar Assembly, but I cannot find anything matching their part number for it: 06.08.0580

Their AliExpress store doesn't even show results if you search for the word "caliper."

That’s a calliper pin ,or a calliper slide pin ,you can get them at any auto parts store ,but probably not for your china bike .

Found a couple options for Can-Am Mavericks or Commanders, which I'm sure are also too big.

I will try to get in touch with Zuumav and see if they'll sell the slide pins or a caliper. Good time to ask about a rear brake pedal, too, since that's another thing I haven't found a replacement for. China bikes are definitely inconvenient sometimes, but it beats not riding at all, or going into debt to do so.

The Templar X brake calipers are a clone of the 1985-1987 Honda CMX250C Rebel front brake caliper. Might be worth taking a chance to see if OEM Honda parts fit..

The EBC FA-86 brake pads that fit these bikes also fit a few Kymco models.. Might be worth looking for caliper parts for these.

That's the diagram I referenced at the end of my post, and it does have the alleged part number for the rear caliper, but even that number seems entirely useless.

It might! :thanks: I emailed Zuumav on Sunday night (info at zuumavmoto dotcom) but no reply yet, not even an auto-response. Not too hopeful on that.

There's a bright side, which is that my rear brake pads have plenty of life left, so in the meantime it's ride-able. Which is great, because with the weather finally cooling down to less than 100 degrees, and a very fresh separation from my partner, I may be wanting to ride often.

So far I've struck out:

Tried an All Balls Racing rebuild kit for a 1985-1987 CMX250, but the pins were too large. Returned.
Tried pin 45215-GE2-016 from Partzilla and it's also too large. Waste of $20.
No reply from Zuumav via email.
[Edit: I've now reached out through AliExpress messaging, per advice from Mumen Rider. Zuumav told me they will reply again later. They didn't specify why, but at least they seemed friendly through their translation!]

By "too large," I mean the pin is not just longer but the head / threading diameter is also wider, so it wouldn't screw in even if it could be shortened.

I can take the non-stripped pin I have to auto parts stores, but I feel like I'm setting myself up for disappointment when they inevitably have no clue as it's not something they can look up by model in their system.

At least it isn't a super uncommon design, just perhaps an uncommon size. Maybe something from a smaller engine than a 250cc is what I should be looking for?

Big update: We all have the wrong model number for our Templar X 250. It's an X7-PR250. A couple part numbers are included in the post below. They said they can get a parts diagram to me tomorrow, so I'll share it there if I do.

You will have more luck just getting a new caliper. That guide pin should not be removed. Doesn't have to be removed to replace the pads.

Maybe we're thinking of two different things--the caliper has two of these slide pins, so am I using the wrong terminology? I didn't remove the pin that is a little more "built in" to the caliper and has something on it resembling a nut.

Also, I think you missed something: That parts list is wrong. That was a big part of what I was trying to say. Zuumav told me that caliper part # was wrong, and our model # was wrong.

Alllllriiiighty, last time I anticpate bumping this.

Contacted Xpro via the form on their website, got a quick response, and they generated me a $75 quote for the brake caliper plus brake pedal which I've been wanting for some time.

Xpro does in fact use the Templar X model # X7-CB250F, so I'm not sure what Zuumav is smoking over there. I figured a manufacturer would know this stuff better than anyone.

I'll clean up my misinformation on the parts diagram thread. Still no new/"correct" part diagram from Zuumav but we'll assume it would either be wrong, or the same thing we have.

Unrelated, but if you've ever thought about installing spotlights on your Templar or anything else with a subpar/no headlight, you should. Video was for my friend, and definitely illuminates the difference.
