Give some love to the magicians

Just posting a few pics of my magician. I don't seem many people with it.





I've modded it quite a bit. Here's the list.


LED turn signals
LED headlamp bulb
Original odometer removed entirely, GPS speedometer/odometer installed.
17 tooth front sprocket, 40 tooth rear-custom made.

X ring chain
Phone holder, phone charger, heated grips.
Street tires, new inner tubes.

Water/air filled seat cushion. Really makes a difference.

5ah lithium battery
New carb, rejetted.

replacement stiffer mirrors.

Oil cooler, maybe a fan on it later?
kickstand pad.
replacement, simplifed shift lever
replacement, independent starter switch
adjustable clutch lever, replacement clutch cable(custom).
saddle bags, I had to make a bracket to keep the left side one up. The other has a small heat shield under it and doesn't seem to be hurt by the exhaust near it. They are real leather so heat doesn't really hurt them either.

12v plug under the rear of the seat to charge the battery or plug in my travel air pump.

High flow KN air filter
Rubber pads on fuel tank and front motor mount bracket.

Entire air intake box and battery tray removed, fabbed up a new tray with more battery space.






Anyone else out there with one?

I like the looks of the Magicians, and think that they would be great for shorter riders, but they got a bad reputation for bad welds, and the fact that the carb is evidently hard to access. Yamaha built a VERY similar looking bike called the Tricker, or Trixter, but I don't think they were sold in America.

Frankly, it's the welds issue. While I'm a fan of the seat height and that CG250 engine, people have reported weld fractures in the frame through the years and apparently, the distributor and manufacturer isn't listening. I helped my buddy put one together several years ago, and really enjoyed riding it, but the welds kept me away. Could this be fixed if you can weld? Sure. But most guys around here would opt for the Hawk because it's rare to have frame problems with the Hawk. Frankly, I wish that the manufacturer would listen to these complaints about the Magician and do something about it as I like this bike.

None of my welds have cracked, but I don't go offroad with it either. Street riding with maybe a little gravel.



I can weld though!


The rubber pads I put in between the motor mount locations might have helped with that. I was just trying to reduce vibration since the engine isn't internally balanced that well and at max speed it vibrates.
