For starters I have read a number of posts on here about the various options but want the views of those that have dual sports/enduros that take them off-road. I have a 2023 CSC RX4 and will take it on fire roads but it's too heavy and clunky for the single track and OHV trails all around me here in Colorado. I would like something that I can plate (even if I have to do the legwork) and will take some actual enduro riding, so not the TT250, Hawk, Broz, etc. I know it's not going to be any of my KX250 2 stroke race bikes but at 58 I ttill like to "rip" a little, so I want something that will take some mild to intermediate trails. EFI would be preferred since I'll be anywhere from 5,000' to 12,000' in elevation. (I know, I'm looking for a unicorn)

I like the Orion RXB HO for it's fuel injection and the [more] adjustable fork and rear shock. I do not, however, like the air cooled engine (not a deal breaker though) and claims of poor customer service.

Although not EFI, I thought about the X-PRO Templar X but I question the suspension. The carb would have to be jetted for about 8,500-9,000' and be adjusted with the air/fuel screw. I like the rack though.....

Now I find the X-PRO Paladin, which at a cursory view seems to be a good option. It is on the high end of my price range (I really don't want to go over $3,500) but if looks aren't deceiving then it may be in the lead. I question the suspension and the "leaky" exhaust. The 2.5 gallon tank, longer wheelbase and tall seat height are all big pluses.

I've been looking at the Trailmasters and the SSRs but they just seem a little pricey, but they may well be worth it. When I was still racing motocross I wanted a SSR SR189, it looks like a blast to ride!

Anyway, I appreciate any input you can give.

At your height and weight, and your experience level, you can handle the 36 to 37" seat height of the Templar M or X. The Paladin is not quite as tall as the Templar X, but it has stiffer suspension that you need and additional power. In fact, you might be better off with a 450 engine. You might find a 450 direct from manufacturer on AliExpress.

You asked about the MCO. I think in CO you can register it if it sez "motorcycle" for vehicle type. PSM will send one like that if you ask.

Regarding the fit and finish questions, crate bikes are variable there. These bikes are a great value, but you can expect to fix and adjust things. There is no dealer to bring it back to, but most vendors will send replacement parts for DOA or faulty components.
