It would help me if someone can send pictures of the same welds on the paladin 300. Of this is normal or not.

That almost looks like it broke after welding and then got painted. I'd see if they would send you a new frame; ride it while you wait and then swap it out when you have time.

Iam going to roll with the frame I got. Other then those welds they seem fairly decent.

You can "roll with it", but why not reach out to the supplier with some photos. If your gonna go with it, no harm if they won't help, but maybe they will?

I emailed powersportsmax about the frame waiting on response so I can send pictures. It maybe something the manufacturer may need to address Iam sure they have professionals welders overlooking quality control but the gap I got seems the tube notch and weld gap are excessive. Requesting a frame replacement.

Not the same at all :wtf:

Geometry, yes, but the build? Totally Different. The AJ1 has an additional plate connecting the two stays, and welded to the oval tube coming from the headset. AND oddly, there is a weld about 2 inches down from there. Not sure if this weakens the design. The Paladin has the two stays welded with NO reinforcement whatsoever. Strong, sure, but the AJ1 is different

That’s what I stated in my email response that Iam sure they have quality control but they need to ether address this area with a xbrace welding in or finish the weld. The way the weld and the gap on the notch seems excessive I’d like to know what’s behind the paint. If if there’s a lot of meat there I’d like to see a unwelded pic and a reason why they don’t second pass a weld so Iam not looking at the end of a tube but a weld joint.

You are something "special". It's literally the same frame with added reinforcement, obviously it's going to have different engine mounts. The plastic panels, seat and gas tank interchange between the two. NoT tHe SAmE aT aLL. They're both S8 models.

OK. They just seem very different. AJ1 and Paladin frames are generically similar. They may even have similar geometry. The same? I am skeptical.
But what do I know?

Sorry,we have to say it's factory design. And we have submitted the pictures to the manufacturer for reviewing&improvement. Hope there is good news come soon. To show our appreciation as a valued customer, management would like to offer you $50 reimbursement for reinforcement locally. Simply reply to this message to confirm if you still would like to continue,we will process refund as soon as we receive your confirmation.

$50 is better than nothing but you'll still be out of pocket to have that welded again. Shop rates in my area start at $90.

The triangular plate on top is a good reinforcement strategy. Simple, with long weld lines to make it way stronger, even stronger than good welds on the original design like I have on my Paladin. A plate could be added in other locations if you want to jump the bike!

Yeah Iam going to request touch up paint and go with the $50. Seems fair need to find a xbrace to beef it up a bit. I can zap tig up 200 amps off need or flux MiG to 135 amp. I hope the manufacturer really address this the rest of the bike is nice.

The Paladin frame (Painted RED on my bike) is steel.. most everything else structural is aluminum. Easily fixed/improved if you know someone with a MIG welder w/o much dissassembly at all. Swapping a Frame is a LOT OF WORK. If a new frame is necessary, I'd trash the bike and part it out.. OR more likely put the Engine on a Go-Kart..
