So the clutch cable finally wore out on my 2016 hawk after many miles and much abuse. I have bought and returned 4 already that say they fit a Hawk 250 but are either too short or wrong ends. So I got one that ONLY said Hawk 250 in the title. Looks like the old one but I maxed out the adjustments and it just barely moves the actuator on the transmission.

Would someone be so kind as to tell me exactly which cable I need to buy?

This is a link of the latest that did not work but was by far the closest. It says throttle cable but is obviously a clutch cable.

Try PSM's parts request. They've sent me some parts for my Templar that wasn't listed on their portal.

I can never get exactly the right size cables for chinese bikes.

I just make my own.

Just go on amazon and type in clutch cable kit. Then look for the thickness you want(cable) and measure your old ones tip(end).

I usually get a multiple cable kit for like $20 and that way you have like 5 extra ones and they work for almost any bike.

links for reference.

I'm not saying to buy those, that's just the kind of stuff you would want. Measure your own to pick the correct cable thickness and end tips.

I've also found that it's a good idea to solder the screw on tips. Not like you'll want to reuse them anyway. Also, make them very tight.

The throttle cable on my 2024 Hawk X (carburetor) was 3/4 of an inch too long, too long to adjust with the adjusting nut and so long that the bike wouldn't even idle without stalling. I found a company called Venhill in the southern US that made me a custom length throttle cable. They can do the same thing with clutch cables. You can find them at venhillusa.com.

Your bike should idle without a throttle cable. Sounds like you don't have your carb adjusted properly.
