Mountopz 175 starting issue

Looking for help:

Starter works, engine is cranking, plug has spark (although black soot), I can feel it has compression when I plug spark plug hole with finger, I’ve cleaned the carb / jets, changed oil, new gas, checked all wiring, and charged battery and everything seems in order…there’s no choke.

Any idea what it may be? Would appreciate any suggestions.

Putting your finger over the spark plug hole and feeling air come out doesn't mean it has enough compression to start. I would buy or borrow a compression gauge to be sure.
