Did the stealth ride today to Providence Canyon. The canyon road starts out pretty tame for the first few miles, then it starts getting quite rocky and steep. The bike was wonderful as usual but was straining in 1st gear to climb the higher elevations. I would have kept going but I don't like to go farther into these places when alone on an unproven bike. The "proving" process will take awhile since my mountain riding skills aren't much better than my mechanical abilities. I'll get better with practice. Here are the shots I promised:

WOW 8O
Great pics, thanks for making them small enough for all to enjoy. :D
I have nothing like that around me. It's a 40 minute highway ride just to get out of the city for me.

Damn, I wish I had some countryside like that around here.

I'm new to this wilderness stuff myself, having spent most of my life in the middle of the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex. I spent ten out of the last eleven years outside of Austin, which was more country, but cows and deer seemed like the only wildlife. Texas doesn't have much National Forest land to explore.

We moved up here to Utah last August and there are thousands of miles of wild back country open to all who care to explore it. The rich haven't claimed much of it yet and the laws aren't too liberal like Colorado.

It is "wilderness" so it can't be taken for granted. Today, even though I was making a ten mile trip I brought a survival kit, food, water, shelter ect... If you run out of gas or have a flat it could be days before you can get back to civilization. "Be prepared" was my boy scout motto, and lately I've come to understand what that means.

I'm heading back up there real soon, Hopefully I can take some better pics. I know the low resolution stuff is what we need for the website, but they just don't do the scenery any justice. I think I'll post an album on Photobucket, and send links to that site.

Gawd it's nice to live again. And I owe it all to Chinese made bikes!!! My heavy 45 year old self couldn't possibly walk to the places I've been so far. I got to get something a little more powerful though and use the 200 for a "buddy bike". Heck, a Hi-Bird 250 or a Lifan is what I seek. Just can't seem to find one.

Thanks for all the comments folks and if your ever in the neighborhood???
