Hi guys,
In the summer I bought the 250cc X Pro Templar and everything worked great. I went to start it up today and the electric start does nothing and the engine doesn’t make any noise. I can start it with the kick start. I just don’t know what to check. The headlights and dashboard all comes on and the horn works fine. Battery is fully charged.

Try pressing the foot brake while you try to start it. Or the hand brake.

Yeah that’s what I thought the problem was but nope still nothing. I tried the footbrake and the hand brake. Anything else I can try to check? Should I check the voltage on the starter?

It maybe a loose connection to your solenoid. Check that it is plugged in all the way…
On every one of my bikes the lights and horn will sometimes work when the battery does not turn the engine over.
You have a kill switch too. Check that.
Check your charge and jump the connections on the solenoid with a heavy wire.
It jumping the solenoid does not spin the motor you have a starter or battery problem.

Here is the top post on charging system, starting issues, etc. Regardless of what's wrong, follow through this. Bypassing the solenoid is covered in case you just have a bad solenoid.

Does that model have a kickstand cutoff switch? Will it electric start with the kickstand up?
