Hello everyone. I just installed my nibbi using the existing hose and airbox/filter and I'm needing to turn my idle knob approx 6 full turns (counterclockwise) in order to calm her idle down. Does this indicate the need for a smaller jet? She idles fine, I just think 6+ turns may be excessive. Thank you.

Just to qualify this since a lot of people confuse the 2. When you say idle knob, you mean the big one for the curb idle speed that adjusts the actual idle RPM and not the idle mixture, which is on the same side, but adjusts the fueling.
If the former, there is nothing odd about having to turn that knob until the idle speed is where you need it. It's just a rod with a rounded taper that physically pushes the side open or closed to set the idle speed.
That said, if the idle mixture is lean enough or rich enough, it will cause that adjustment to be off.
What pilot jet is in it? What is your current idle mixture setting? I have found a 36 or 38 pilot jet is what works the best on that carb with these engines, depending on altitude and modifications. 1.5 to 2 turns out on the mixture.
