Perhaps you need to adjust the needle jet? Sounds like it is getting too much fuel.

Could the timing have anything to do with it we set it back to where we found it but that is the only thing left that I can think of or maybe it can be the adjustments for the intake and exhust valves that are on the side of the head cover

Please help I am at a stand still

Bigpat. When you mentioned the bent valve I immediately thought timing also.

I am not exactly sure what 250cc version you have, but since you most likely had to pull the top end apart to replace the valve I am thinking that the timing is off or the valves are needing adjustment.

There is a valve adjustment tutorial sticky in the dual sport forum that also has short timing info too. The specs are probably going to be close for the 250cc also.

I check to make sure the timing is correct and the valves are adjusted correctly.

Do you have adequate fuel flow to the carb???Is the line plugged? fuel tank not venting? filter pooched?

If it truly is flooding out, there likely is a piece of debris preventing the needle in th carb from seating fully. Opening up the carb so you can get access to the float bowl, and cleaning it out will remedy it.

Same thing was happening to me a few years ago on my tractor- nearly drove me nutz! I'd clean out the float area...the tractor would run fine for half an hour..then the same thing would happen again. I finally took my gas tank and had it cleaned out and it solved the problem. Hopefully it'll just be a one-time thing for you, and after you clean out the obstruction in the needle seat, the problem will be fixed.
