Do you need to register to ride off-road? Insurance should be easy. Usually insurance just care if they get the check or not. It probably has a VIN on the steering tube of the frame.

Is off-road registration mandatory in Nova Scotia? It's not in BC (but I wish it was).

Phil, defensive weapons are ok (shotguns, rifles), football fields are longer and we only have three downs to cover them and a quart is about two litres. Also, a pack of cigarettes costs $9.00 in Canada, but a heart transplant is free. Ohhhh, Canada....

Why do you wish it were mandatory?
It is on Ontario, and I certainly wish it weren't.
You can't ride your offroad bike on any public land without a plate, and insurance.

A quart is .95 liters, and 2 mins from my house, I can buy smokes from $1-$3 a pack. I wish I smoked, I'd be saving all kinds of money

renegade, I don't know your laws in NS, but I don't think you'll be able to plate the Gio.

Have you contacted giovanni themselves? Maybe they can assist.

Nothing needed here to ride off-road. The only good thing I see about the registration is it gives proof of ownership.

You're right, of course. I was thinking that a litre is roughly the same as a pint. My bad.

I wish that registration was mandatory, because it helps to protect the buyer from buying a hot bike. I bought an XR250 last year, and the only thing I had to go on was the guy's word that he bought it new. Registration has been mandatory in Alberta for over 25 years, and it is a good system.

You're right.
The registration I can live with.
Its the insurance I have a problem with.

Katoranger, thats what i am waiting on now , read the post before your last one. He said i could print the bill of sale in about 1 week from last wednesday, they were doing something to their computer system. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Sorry, misunderstood. I thought you were referring to a dealer and not giovanni themselves.

Sounds like you are on the right track.

My Dad told me yesterday that he saw an ATV in Sioux Falls, SD with a tag on it. It had street tires, signals, mirrors.

In the state of SD you can tag an atv and ride it on the street.

You can also ride an ATV on the streets of Montana. I know a fellow who just moved to Idaho from Montana. He has a Polaris 500cc ATV; it has a Montana license plate mounted on the rear. :)

If its Gio you're dealing with, in BC, be patient, he is a very busy guy.
If he said he would do it, I would believe him.
