I took an Lifan 140 powered honda ct70 to Sturgis SD from Pearl river LA.
Bike had an 3 gallon aux used as the primary. Stock tank was used as reserve.

Even got on car crazy. http://www.carcrazycentral.com/TV-Show-Watch-Episodes.aspx?VideoID=402

Thanks for the link. Someone had posted your thread earlier.

Give us some more details on the conversion.

Converted Electrical to 12 volt using DRATV parts, then threw in the engine. Engine swap was easy.

Currently having Pitster Pro Build me a special touring z155 engine.

Engine will have 9.5-9.8 compression (down from stock 11.5),v2 head, compression release, japanese bearings in tranny, and 181cc's.

Will be using this motor to get to Daytona in spring, and a surprize ride in late Aug.,early Sept.

Did you ever get the Lifan replacement to run right?

Yes, but only after I replaced the igntion coil. I have a bad feeling that the Lifan was fine, just needed a new coil. The Bike shop owner kept trying to sell me an ruckus 50 to finish my trip. I think he was trying to scam me with a false compression reading.

To late to check it now. Motor got wet on the way back, and I did not care since I thought at that time it was toast.

A warning for doing 45 in a 35.

Think he just wanted to see if I was legal. I did look like a bum.

How cool is going to Sturgis on a CT70? I still have one with a pooched engine at my parents farm, was the conversion expensive? I would love to get the old girl running again.

Depends on what you want to spend.

$300 for a basic motor to an 2,500 honda nice motor.

I would lean more toward the $300... Thanks for the info.

Wow, when are they going to stop poking and stroking these horizontal engines? I wouldn't even consider a 140 without an oil cooler, let alone a 192. Does it come with a cooler?

I'm pretty sure you have to buy one seperately.

Firepower and PitsterPro can build up to 239cc now.

239cc??? Wow! Wonder how much power you'd be looking at? :D

Okay, That is getting into serious fast fun power. Of course I am sure it costs.

The 10 inch wheels would be smoking.

Pitster have a few 125cc Honda-cloned minis like the CT-70 and the other model, I forgot the name, but the nickname "monkey bike." I would probably stick with the 125 engine for a long trip, and cross my fingers that Pitster are as reliable as they are supposed to be
