I'm trying to get my 110 ready for spring and want to use the rest of winter to do so. any recommended mods or upgrades? I'd like for it to do 50-ish mph, any chance of this happening? any comments are appreciated!

The easiest way is to swap it out for a 125.

Even as a 125, there is room for improvement with a better carb, a free-flowing pipe, a decent air filter and even a racing stator. A couple of the guys on the forum installed the stator; check it out.

Are you going to ride this on the street?

I would just spring the extra $50 for a iron jug lifan 140cc all 4 up.

I have done this to my Lifan GY-3 110. You start noticing everything else that needs immidiate attention on a little bike that is capable of 60mph..

You can keep the lights and everything with the swap but you loose the e start.

A Larger dia front sprocket and smaller dia rear will get you close to 50mph with a 110 but you will still be wringing it out.

Pm me if you need any info on the 140cc Swap.

I'd like to hear more about the 140 swap, as would several of our members, I'm sure. Did you pick up a 140 kit that had everything you needed? Do you have a link that we could follow?

In theory I'd like for it to be safe enough (not necessarily fast enough) to take on the road. I just don't really feel safe putting around on this little bike knowing it will only do about 35. I would also love to hear more about the 140 swap. what do you mean spring the extra 50 bucks? The cheapest 140 i can find is around 400 usd, maybe i misunderstood?

I believe he was referring to that a 140 is about $50 more than a 125.

A 140 should easily get you 50mph with the right gearing. I don't know what gearing is available for the gy3. A 125 should also.
