here's a few pics for you guys. Nothing has greened up much except the winter wheat crops, but we had a lot of fun anyway. http://i814.photobucket.com/albums/zz64/JimW_photos/101_0804.jpg

We followed about 5 miles of the old Santa Fe Trail. Will ride more of it next time. By the end of the day we had ridden about 33mi according to the gps. http://i814.photobucket.com/albums/zz64/JimW_photos/101_0824.jpg (http://s814.photobucket.com/albums/zz64/JimW_photos/?action=view&current=101_0824.jpg)

Looks like a great day and a great day to ride. As always, beautiful girl too! :D

One little thing, not my place to say but here goes, don't take this the wrong way.....

Helmets. All the time. We have a dangerous sport/hobby.

That looks like a great place to ride, and a fun day.

I too noticed the lack of a helmet in some of the shots. Would hate to hear of an accident even hamming it up for the camera's.

Thanks for sharing the photos!

Thatnks TurboT. I know about the helmet, and she has one but since she's 24yrs old I can't make her wear it. With her health problems and meds she's on she says it gives her a headache so, I'm going to try a different style of helmet and see if that'll get her started wearing one more often.

I noticed there was one sitting on the unit when she was standing beside the quad. I had wondered if she just had it off for the pictures. I don't think you took it as condencending or disrespectful, but I think most of us have 'safety bear' in us a little bit. I'd hate to hear about how she had an accident without one, but obviously as you mentioned, being an adult, it's her choice.

I enjoyed the pictures of happy people enjoying family and the outdoors. I like seeing different scenery as well, and sometimes wish I could just load up my toys, and drive across this wonderful continent hitting trails in different spots!

Copy that.

I was in a significant crash last November. Granted that was on a motorcycle, not an ATV, but I would not have survived if not for my helmet.

She knows the concequences of what can happen since one of her good friends was killed in a bike accident. I can't say I've always wore a helmet but 90% of the time I do. I had a cousin nearly killed in a bike collision once and he had a helmet on. He got broadsided by a pickup and ended up stuffed in the front wheel well between the tire and fender. When they finaly got him out of the fender well his helmet was split in 2 down the middle. I'm sure it saved his life. On top of that his lower right leg was shattered and the bone was sticking out thru what was his knee. It's been 37yrs ago and to this day he has to look at people with his head cocked to one side because he can't see straight on and walks with a limp. I kind of figure like this, she layed in a hospital bed a few years ago and face her own mortality. I'm pretty sure while she layed there wondering if she would see another day that she made peace with her maker. If she doesn't want to wear it for whatever reason then its her choice. I don't mean to sound like an ass about it and hope you all don't take it that way. I just feel her desease will take before a wreck will. At least the chances are in the favor of the desease.

I appologize to all of you for seaming like I was on the war path. The helmet comment did rub me the wrong way but only because in one of your posts doc about the suzuki you restored for your friend is a pic of him riding down the hi way with no helmet. Not a soul on the forums commented about it. Is it that much safer to ride a bike 50, 60 or 70mph down a hiway than going 15 or 20mph on a trail? I kind of get the feeling that I'm being singled out. The main problem with forum post, emails, and text is theres no emotion and sometimes people take things the wrong way.

Jim was clearly in more danger than your daughter. However, we would all agree that he is nowhere near as good looking as she, so a facial injury would not be so bad in his case. :P

I never saw that photo, or I might've said something. :)

JimW, my thoughts for the continuation of your daughter enjoying life. I think the comments were made out of 'love' of our fellow forum members family to not get hurt. Clearly you as a family are already dealing with something very serious. We're all here for you as much as we can be.

I appreciate the humor, doc  I'm alot like a snake sometimes in the fact it doesn't take much for me to strike, and it seems the older I get the worse it is. Kind of like a grunmpy old man I guess, but I am pretty easy to get along with for the most part. The fact is since a lot of members don't personally know one another at times it's hard to tell the full meaning of whats said. That being said, I have no hard feelings against you or anyone on here. Just the oposite actually

Hey.

Check out my post in the ATV forum I just made.

YOU DO NOT EVEN HAVE TO BE MOVING TO NEED A HELMET!
