Have a 49cc gio, and the fuel is just running through it out the bottom runoff. I am sure this cant be normal. Any way to adjust this? Forgive me I am a newbie, and learning....thanks all.. these are great fourms.

Hi Dave,
I'm not sure what you mean by "the bottom runoff". Do you mean the bottom of the tank at the valve, or maybe the bottom of the carb? Do you have a pic?

I think they all do it, mine does it too, changed the carb and it still leaked, not sure if the floats are bad in both carbs i tried but i just turn that white knob to turn the fuel off inbetween uses for now, if i find the cure i'll let you know.

Wow, quick responses, Wellandgrind, by the bottom of the bike, I mean the hose at the bottom of the carb, is dripping gas, i turn off the fuel after I am done with it,
also, I found that if I turn the fuel switch a bit while I am using the bike, it seems to fix the problem..
thanks all..

It sounds like the float valve in the carb isn't seating. It acts like a toilet valve; once the bowl is full, the float valve rises to the top and closes the passage.
You might have luck in removing the carb, removing the bowl and sparaying carb cleaner into the passages. Spray carb cleaner is cheap at Wal-Mart.

Yeah, i checked over the new carb like a hawk and it still leaked, could be bad needle and seats on these cheapy carbs, i may just have to adapt a nice walbro to it.
