Hi malice_army
You better check with your local BMV office first. I just heard that NY State does not alloy Drop-shipped bikes in their State.
This is just what I heard so I thought I would let you know. The dealer I talked to also said it may not be enforced fully yet. Just check to make sure so you don't have registration problems.

Like Bruce posted, check with the state, they have the final say. Good luck!

Looks like you have to jump through a lot of hoops. I'd recommend an anonymous call to the DMV telling them what you want to register and see what they say. Also, keep an eye out for Chinese bikes in your area and talk to the owners. Good way to make friends/riding partners!

Yea, wasn't there mention awhile ago about titling it in Vermont(or was it Arizona) first then transferring it to your state?

But yea, if you plan to ride it on the road, definately check local laws/regulations first. You don't want to end up with a $1000 lawn ornament.

It wasn't Vermont. You can't register it here without a verified physical address. Also we don't title bikes at all under 300 cc's. You COULD register it in Maine, all you need to do is buy a PO box # for like 35 bucks.

So is this what you had to do? Man, some states seem to be a real pain.

No, I AM registered in VT because I live here. BUT, a lot of Vermont commercial businesses register their vehicles in Maine because it's cheeper, and you don't need a physical address there, just a PO Box.

Ok, but you were saying about not getting a title for anything under 300cc, right? So, how did you work around that? Seems strange...what about all those bike sizes between mopeds (50cc) and 300cc that are actually considered motorcycles in most states and have to be licensed as such?
