Getting parts from Zongshen America has always required persistence, and patience. When I became a Zongshen parts vendor, I hoped the process for ordering parts could be expedited. However, I have discovered the process has not become any easier. Therefore, I have decided to discontinue being a Zongshen Parts vendor. ;)

However, anyone wishing to purchase Zongshen parts can still order parts from Zongshen America himself. :) I encourage Zongshen parts buyers to send an email, and make a telephone call contacting Manny at Zongshen America. The telephone number is 305-500-9989. If your parts order is not processed promptly, I encourage you to continue contacting Zongshen until you get your parts. ;)

Zongshen parts are good quality, and very reasonably priced. :) However, I believe that Zongshen America is understaffed; therefore, you usually need to contact them several times before your parts order is completed. For this reason, it is always good to anticipate your parts needs whenever possible, and keep essential, spare items on hand, such as brake pads, CDI units, et cetera. ;)

Sorry to hear it did not work out but we understand and thank you for trying. Parts availabilty and service are the achilles heel of Chinabikes. This is an advantage of the Q's. I believe they have excellent parts supply, both through Q and Suzuki. That said the parts are more expensive than Zong parts, but still less than usual Japanese replacements.

Thank you, Doc. :)

Indeed, you can't underestimate the convenience of the excellent parts support provided by the Japanese manufactureres. ;)

I agree; QLink appears to have the best support for Chinese parts. Fortunately, the Zongshen 200GY-2 is also well supported by Yamaha parts. ;) Zongshen parts are good quality, and inexpensive, even compared to QLink parts. However, you always need to exercise patience, and persistence, when acquiring parts from the Zongshen warehouse. Therefore, the money you save on Zongshen parts is always offset by the extra time, and extra effort required to obtain them. ;) I always try to anticipate my needs for Zongshen parts, and I order certain items in advance, so I will have them on hand when I need them.

Hi Spud

I for one am really glad you made this post. I for one am glad that you tried.
Maybe, just maybe some day people will realize you tried as I being a Dealer have for the last 8 years {since 2004}. We are not Gods, we are Human, and can only do what we can being Human.

Redcat used to be a great place to get parts from till Tank Sports bought them. When T.S. took everything to CA, they let go of anyone that had to do originally with Redcat, parts went to crap then they {T.S.} went under in December 2009.

United Motors of America used to be decent to get parts from (expensive, not as the big guys) but I received parts within a week. Then in 2009 things started getting crappy, they went under in February 2010.

I have had other companies I have dealt with and parts where near impossible to get. They tell you they have parts and no parts...

I have one company I deal with, parts where good for a long time, people left things changed but parts got back on line quickly (as far as I'm concerned). Then people/things changed again, I have had issues getting parts since then. They also moved the parts location and all prior orders seemed to have been lost.

All this leaves a Dealer with a bad taste in their mouth, let alone the customers the Dealer has let down at no fault of their (Dealer) own.

I have tried to help many people. I have had a lot of happy customers and in turn not so happy customers, to really pissed off customers. Maybe someday people will realize that our feelings get hurt to when {We tell them we can get parts} and in fact sometimes we can't Because of the Supplier.

I can appreciate not wanting to be tied to slow or unreliable service, despite the importers being nice people. Sorry it didn't work out for you Spud.

You're still the Ambassador of Zong. :D

ive got a local store that sells china quads and bikes and stocks a craptastic load of parts.. but here is the catch, a air filter that would run you 10 bucks on ebay, is 35.99.. i went there to see about a swingarm for my quad since im having a hard time finding and getting some one to weld the crack in it for me.. i looked at the ones they had in stock and sure enough they have one exactly like mine.. but its 149.99, even from gio's ebay store a new beast swingarm is 80 bucks..

that being said best luck ive had with the cheapest price and easy to get parts is ebay.. it takes a little longer to sort through the parts that the search pulls in. but once you match up the plugs, or mounting points and sizes to find the correct one. its not priced to bad and you can get it inside of a week

but ya spud i havent dealt with zongshen but all the companies that make the quad or sell it needs to understand there is a GROWING DEMAND for parts and someone needs to step up to the plate and crack some whips. wonder if they relize how much money they are loosing on parts sales. considering it takes a few different parts just to get the quads and bikes running good..

In view of this, we can drop the parts order we discussed recently. The dealer I got my Sierra 200 from says he has and/or can get parts, so I will try through him.

But I would still be interested in a list of your recommendations of the most important parts to stockpile for this model bike, especially those where there are no equivalent Yamaha or other manufacturer parts available. I don't need an exhaustive list, but some suggestions would be helpful of the ones where I will be dead in the water without them, such as the CDI.

Thanks for your suggestions.....

I actually think those inflated prices are reasonable. The dealer needs to make a living so that he can actually have the parts avalable in a brick and mortar store. Plus if he makes a living he can continue to provide parts and service and employ people etc.

Thank you for your understanding. :) In addition, you can also order parts directly from Zongshen America. ;)

You're welcome. :) I just returned your PM regarding another matter, and I included a list of suggested parts with that message. However, I am happy to repeat the information in this thread, in an effort to help others seeking the same information. :)

Many parts on the Zongshen 200GY-2 are identical to Yamaha parts. However, some parts are different, and I think it's most important to keep the different parts. Therefore, to start the list, I suggest the following items.

CDI Unit
Front Brake Pads

You can acquire the following parts elsewhere. However, for convenience, and low cost, you might want to consider also getting these parts form Zongshen.

Clutch Cable
Speedometer Cable
Throttle cable
Foam air filter elements
Left crankcase cover gasket
Right crankcase cover gasket

If you are riding off road, you will probably break the Zongshen, ABS plastic. Therefore, I suggest you trim the plastic now. ;) However, it is probably also a good idea to get the following spare parts from Zongshen.

Upper left side cover
Upper right side cover

If you are going to paint your Zong's plastic, it is nice to have an entire spare set of plastic. You can then paint the spare set, and let it dry, before you swap in the spare set. ;) Therefore, you might also consider buying the following parts.

Rear fender
Headlight shroud

You won't need all of these items. In fact, the front brake pads are standard, Lifan "hocky pucks." The most essential item to acquire is the spare CDI unit. However, we are currently experimenting to discover if the Lifan, 150cc, CDI unit is compatible. ;) These CDI units are readily available on eBay, and elsewhere.

I think it's also a good idea to have a spare stator. The stator can take a beating from being bathed in the hot engine oil. I believe the Zongshen stator is wired differently than the Yamaha, TW200 stator. Also, the Zongshen stator is much less expensive than the Yamaha, TW200 stator. ;)
