Whats the trick to adjusting the idle screw on the bottom of the PZ30 carb - the tool - right angle screw driver? flex shaft? would like to make adjustments when its running without burning myself to bad.

I just use one of the removeable bits from my socket set so I have somthing to grip.

I've tried all kinds of tools for that job, but I find that a really long screwdriver from underneath the skidplate works for me. Mind you, that's on a quad.

ya go buy a long long handled flat head screw driver..

btw that is not the idle screw, the idle screw is on the side of the carb.. the screw you are talking about is air screw.. you use it to get rid of any hesitation or stumble when you come off idle and start moving..

I wish all I needed was the long screw driver - got that. The way the carb is positioned near the starter and exhaust make it tough when the engines cold let alone hot.

I recommend a trip to HF. If you browse through the tools long enough, you'll find a solution. I'm guessing that some sort of ratcheting screwdriver will do the trick.

Pulled out an old flex shaft screw driver used back in the day to adjust chevy distributors - kinda worked - it needs a smaller head. A trip to HF is due anyways to pickup some more nitral black gloves - we use a bunch in the shop - maybe they have a similar driver

I bought one like this from a atv /bike shop... $35.00 good deal.. I use it all the time on the 250 cc gio bikes.. keeps you away from the exhaust pipes..

Silly question...what's HF? :?

I use a one of those bent 90 deg screwdrivers cut in half. It has two slotted ends perpendicular to each other (one vertical the other horizontal). Need to cut it in half because the ends get in the way and you can only turn the screw 90deg and then have to switch ends.
