Thats Cool - Thats Plenty FAST for me......Anything over 80 Gets hairy on a Bike anyways. Sounds like your getting happier about your mods?

I'm using better earplugs and that helps.

I'm happier about the performance since I remembered I had to, and did not, remove the airbox snorkel. Ever miss something simple and feel dumb while modifying a bike  ?

That really cleaned up the carburation. It was good before but now I'd say it's perfect. It also has improved my mileage from 45 to 55 MPG. It was 65 before the mods, but I was also breaking it in then, and speeds were 55 and below. Since the mods, and being done with break in, I've been hammering it much more, partly determining the quality of the mods and the performance at high speed.

I think in commuter and trail riding mode I may be able to get closer to 65.

Like I say it's not the mileage I care about it's the range.

2 gallons does not go very far.

I feel ya Doc - with feeling and missing the stupid things - OMG i can't belive I put the spring back in my carb wrong. - Oh well we all do silly things. Must be all the excitement of modifying our bikes! I think the "q" has a 2.8 gallon tank if i remember correctly. Do you remember what your milage was on the XP? I'm still going to put the 125 jett in and my Pro Circuit pipe on, just want to wait till I get a few miles on her. Glad your happier. I'll do a Video for the pro circuit when I get it on. RIDE SAFE!

My Q, if ridden on the street, got at least 80 MPG. :D

I think that might be the perfect DS Doc. Have you investigated a Clarke or Acerbis tank for greater range?

As of now they are in the works but not available yet. I like the smallness and narrowness of the current tank. Plan for now is a 1 gallon plastic sealed gas can on the rack for longer rides into the 'wilderness'. I also ride alot with a KLR Mothership and I'll carry a small siphion...

Somebody posted a link that depicted a fuel tank in the headlight housing; have you considered that?

Nah. Too ugly for me. I'd rather siphon fuel from Rogers KLR Mothership :P

Thanks for posting the video, Doc. :) Your new muffler doesn't sound excessively loud; I think you will enjoy the results obtained from the quiet insert. :)
