Whatever one fits a DR200SE will be fine I'd bet.

There's two that stick down. I pulled the one that WASN'T in the middle of that 'really important looking thing' bolted to the bottom of the motor! 8O

It took quite a while to trickle all out, even hot. At least 2 beers. :D

I bet they are the same for every year. When I ordered Suzuki parts for my Q I just used 2008 as that was Q's year.

FastDoc is right on. Use 2008 DR200SE and you come up with MP05 at that web site.
( I think thats right, your dealing with a senior here) :D

I found that when I got mine that it didn't replace the drain plug. There is another plug to the side that it did replace, however. That's the one that 2LZ is refering to. The main plug is where the screen is. You pull the main one at an oil change. After all the oil is out pull the other to clean off the metal it caught. I found that the filter (HF131) caught the majority of the metal shavings during break in. I was curious what it looked like so I pulled the screen at my last oil change (#3, I think) and it was very clean, no metal shavings or sludge on the plate. I think that it's pretty cool that these bike have two types of filters. Do most of the Honda clones have just the screen?

Yeppers. No filter per se.

I agree with you guys that the Honda clones with the screen need the MDP more than the Q since it has a real oil filter.

One advantage to the MDP long range is that if all of a sudden you start getting metal on it then you got problems.

SO What I'm taking from this is the "Q" really don't need an MDP becuase 1. - They have a real OIL Filter, and 2. They have a secondary screen down below - therefore a waste of money. Correct me if i'm wrong....Thanks guys everyone who has commented, all great points and advice. Hopefully this info helps someone else as well.

Barnone, that's excellent logic. Thanks! I intend to pick some up to protect my son's XR and both of our Chinese machines.

Andrew, it's cheap insurance. I'd certainly install one on a bike as nice as yours.

I agree with W&G.
I'd still put MDP in the Q. Had some metal attached when I changed the oil after the MDP was installed. I have one in my Tacoma,Chinese mini jeep, Kawasaki Mule, Land Pride UTV, John Deere 4100, all other bikes, etc.

Excuse me if I already posted this photo of first oil change on my bobber with the Honda push rod clone. Typical of what I get with a new engine first time. After that very little. Just about the same on all my engines.

Don't know if the oil screen would catch all that.
