So, I found a complete (but dismantled) '83 XR200R on CL for $100.00. It was a perfect parts bike for the final items I need for Son of Weldangrind's bike. I emailed the seller and received a response that instructed me to call after 11:00am the next day. I did, and the Lady of the house said that somebody was there looking at the bike. Bummer. She said that she'd call me if it was still available. :?

I was impatient, so I called back in 45 minutes, and she said that the first person who called was going to pick up the bike, but they'd call me to confirm. Very nice gesture.

I got a call at 2:00, and the gentleman said that he sold the bike, but the new owner might be inclined to part with some of it, and he gave me the guy's cell number. :o

I called the guy, and he said that he could part with the two things I need; the rear wheel and the brake cable. :) We arranged to meet this afternoon, and he's a total bike guy. He's even got a new Husaberg in the shop. 8) We chatted about bikes for awhile, then I loaded up the rear wheel and the brake cable.

The price? One dozen Miller Genuine Draft. :D

God pulled that one off, Brother Weld.

Clearly nothing random about that one!

Canadians drink Miller??

I'm well aware that God did that. I was convinced that I'd be hooked up with the parts somehow, I just didn't know how it would play out. Of course, it played out to everyone's benefit. :D

This Canadian doesn't buy any mass-produced freezing cold sterile tasteless lager. Microbrew or at least small batch ales only. BTW, MGD is brewed by Molson in Canada; it's not the same product you have.

That is, indeed, a cool story! I am very glad you were blessed with this good fortune. :D
