So my 2006 200cc Chongqing (viva) has a green sticker. Am I going to be able to get this plated? It has a sticker that says it's epa certified as an ohv in all 50 states. Does that mean it can never be street legal? If all I need is a CARB sticker, can I just go get an emissions test?

Welcome to the forum. As I understand it few Chinabikes are street legal in the PRK. Q Link being a notable exception.

Thank you! I've been lurking for a while and finally got the courage to make an account. I thought as such. I just don't really want to take off work to go to the DMV just to wait in line then be told it can't be registered.

I might be wrong. 2LZ and other Kalifornians may know better, but I don't think it will get a plate.

Welcome!

Like Doc says, others here will know the answer. We'd love to see pics of your bike. :D

Haha alright. I'll bump with a couple pics. I got both of these for 825$. The red one has an electrical problem though and isn't running yet. Both under 100 miles when I bought them though.

I'm gonna go grab a picture of the emissions label too.

Those are good bikes and the price sure was right. :D

If they can't be street legal in Kalifornia I'd do what 2LZ did and stip off the street harware. Less weight and less to break. He posted a great thread on the topic recently.

Thanks. I'll go take a look.

Good score! Is that a faux toolbox on the left side of the blue bike, disguised as a muffler?

Have you tried troubleshooting the red bike yet?

It is! And yes. I've purchased a new CDI box for 150cc gy engines (hopefully compatible) which will hopefully fix the problem. If not I guess I need to get a new coil. If it still doesn't work I'll probably have to tear down and rebuild the entire bike.

It's usually the CDI. 8)

My vote is to tear down and rebuild the entire bike. Then add a big bore kit. Then a turbo.

Changed it but apparently it wasn't the problem.

that's probably what I'll end up doing. They make turbos for enduros?

Not exactly, but a little creative plumbing can fix that. :D I laughed when I saw what people on Youtube will stick turbos on. I even saw them on Briggs and Stratton engines.

What is the exact symptom?

It will crank when attatched to a battery charger, but it wont start. The battery charger is industrial and can start a car without a battery, so not enough power isn't the problem. I started a new thread, since this was in the registration category. If you care to look it's:

Holy cow, guys! Sorry I missed this one!
As stated, to the best of my knowledge, the Q Link is the only street legal CB offered in the PRK.
I WISH my X-Moto (Hondanoid, like your bikes here) was street legal. It;s going to make a nice Green Stickered trail bike for Mrs 2LZ though.
What part of the PRK are you located?

Sorry for the late reply! Orange county. I'm going to try to get it plated anyways, maybe I can slip through the cracks :P. Also, since you know so much about this bike, which honda is it modeled after? I accidentally knocked over my bike getting out of my car and my seat broke off and I have no idea what kind of seat to buy.

Just got both motorcycles registered! The people at the DMV seemed to know/care about the laws as much as I do. If you can't get it registered the first time, go again. It really just depends on the person who verifies your motorcycle.

Congratulations! It is no small victory to defeat the PRK DMV Nazis! :D
