Thought I would put up a couple of old pics I had kickin' around until my Konker is fixed. When I was 12 I took one look at the used Honda Z50 my brother's buddy had and fell in love. Thats not my bike but mine was even the same color.

I lobbied my parents from that moment forward until she was mine...She ran all the time I had her and after I sold her she made some other kid happy. That helmet was way too big for me and every time I hit a bump it fell down and forward covering my eyes. 8O But we just didn't know any better.

This is big brother's Yamaha IT 175. We bought it well used....so well used that it's original markings had long since been worn off, and big bro rode this thing hard as we both did. As near as I remember it started up first kick all the time he had it and never gave us any problems. To be honest I don't think we even knew enough to change the oil in these things. 8O

My second bike Yamaha MX100, another great bike but I wanted more power.....

The best of the lot. The 1981 Suzuki RM80, an honest to gosh racing bike. This thing was awesome! It didn't have a very high top speed but it had raw brute power and it was indestructible. Big bro completely submerged it in a slough one time and it still started first kick the whole time I had it. :D I crashed it doing nearly as fast as it could go and all I had to do to fix it was grab the front tire between my knees and straighten 'er back out!

Ahh, the yellow Alberta plates of the seventies. BC drivers used to say that it screamed CAUTION.

I just traded away a '78 MX175 that would start first or second kick. It was a wreck when I got it, but Son of Weldangrind and I lovingly repaired it and then rode the tar out of it. :D

We also sold what was left of a '78 PE175 least year. That was a fun bike until the trans dumped on us. We got most of our money back in parts sales.

I had a buddy in Sherwood Park who used to race an RM80 back in the day. He was insane on that bike.

Thanks for the great pics!
