Baseball Hall of Famer, Harmon Killebrew Dies

I was saddened to learn one of my childhood heroes, baseball player Harmon Killebrew died on Tuesday, May 17. :(

A native of Payette, Idaho, Harmon Killebrew played many years for the Minnesota Twins, and he is fondly remembered as a wonderful person, as well as a great baseball player. He died at home, at age 74, from esophageal cancer.

Sad to hear! The Minnesota Twins have revealed that Hall of Fame slugger Killebrew has succumbed to esophageal cancer. The imposing slugger from Payette, Idaho, was 74 years old. The AP reports that Killebrew perished peacefully while asleep at his Scottsdale, Ariz., home on Tues, accompanied by wife Nita and their family.
