Figured I'd post here as well.
I have just completed the 50 to 40 tooth rear sprocket change. Used the data referenced from the sprocket compatibility section of this site. Everything went very well. As my bike has a 16 inch rear wheel, the motor was screaming for mercy at 55 MPH. I'm now able to hit 55 without the motor sounding like it's about to fly apart. Did have to remove 2 links from the chain.
First gear is much more useful....no longer a granny low. Bike seems moch happier through the gears...might just be psychological though.
