XF/XP 200 pilot jet stock size

What is the stock size of the pilot jet for a xp/xf 200? I am planning on ordering some jets and did not want to order the same size I already have since um well that would just be dumb :)

hint: it should be 30 or 32.5

I'd never go on anybody's testimony, because there's too much risk that you don't have the same setup. Just pull your carb off and read the numbers on the jets.

yeah I kinda wanted to avoid that, makes the bike less ridable for a while. If its the same BS28 on the same XP/XF200 then it should have the same pilot jet stock. I cant imagine they are putting different pilot jets in different carbs for the same bike.

I just did not know if it started at 32.5 (my guess) or 30. Why waste the $5 and get a 2nd 32.5 if I dont need to :P and yes $5, pilots are more than main.


I may do it after I get back, I have to go to dmv and get my license upgraded now (finally got all the paperwork to turn my learners permit in for an "M1" on my license).

In case you are unaware, you don't need to remove the carburetor to change/inspect the jets. ;) Merely loosen the carburetor clamps, and rotate the carburetor far enough so you can remove the float bowl. While you are at it, I suggest you replace the float bowl screws with allen head bolts. ;) If you merely rotate the carburetor, changing/inspecting the jets is a quick, simple task. :)

Indeed. ;) You probably need to remove the choke cable, also. However, you also need to perform these procedures if you remove the carburetor. ;) Rotating the carb takes a lot less time than removing it, and reinstalling it. :)

never had to do anything to the choke to rotate the carb just the throttle cables.


As for the pilot it is a 32.5 so I will get a 35 and maybe a 37.5 and see which works better. I will also be getting an assortment of main jets to try out (125, 127.5, 130) and see which works best for my particular set up once I get the bike back (probably a week from now).

trixter, mine came with a 32.5. My local dealers did have the 35 but not for my carb. Dennis Kirk has them, however. I think you already know but make sure that you are ordering them for the BS28

already ordered from jetsrus. a 35 and 37.5 pilot and a 125, 127.5 and 130 main (still have the 132.5 from JP Motorsports performance kit). That should give me enough to play with and see which one works best for the totality of my bike.
