Hello everyone.

Just bought a cheap 50cc from Direct Bikes.

Never had a two wheeled anything before. It turned up today..BUT

I need to be able to carry 6yr old pillion around town when needed but his feet dont reach the designated footrest areas. I know this is a legal requirement, so can I install pegs higher up to make it legal, or is it illegal to "modify" in this way?

Please help

I thought about adding some wood blocks on top of the passenger pegs. Then put something grippy on top of that.

Make sure the kid has something to hang onto.

Thanks for the quick response.

I bought a model that has passenger grab handles. And I bought one of those safety belts with the handles either side for me to wear and for him to grab onto.

Safety, safety safety :D

I think I woul just cut a couple blocks of wood. Paint them black and bolt them on over the stock footrest area. When the child gets bigger cut them down or remove them.
