Does anyone know of a bolt on big bore kit for an xf/xp 200?
My bike blew up, I need to replace the head and all no matter what. I figured since my warranty is void since the dealer did not have paperwork showing maintenance done to check the valves etc and the bike is only 6 weeks old and only had 1200 miles or so on it I would go ahead and price big bore kits.
So any ideas? I would prefer something that is bolt on as opposed to something that requires a lot more work. It should fit in the space that exists, if that is an option.

I might be wrong, but I doubt you will find a big bore kit for either the QLink XP200, or the Suzuki DR200SE. ;) In any event, I recommend you keep the engine stock. If you decide to purchase a larger motorcycle, you will have an easier time selling a QLink with a stock engine. ;)

I have not found anything, even searching for the qingqi model. There are a couple of scooter (CM) big bores but not for this engine.
I am looking at getting a bigger bike and plan on keeping this one until it is not sellable anymore. Just thought that since I had to replace stuff anyway I might as well try to get a little more out of it. What I am reading indicates that you only get 1-2 HP more from a theoritical big bore which makes it not worth it if you have a working head unit, but maybe if you have to replace it anyway.
Once I get the bigger bike this one will be used only occasionally mostly while camping. The bigger one (looking at a ninja) will be my daily bike. However it would still be nice to get this one so that cruising at 65 is possible :)

What exactly was damaged when it blew up? Are you salvaging cams, valves, and all that? An old 2 stroke trick was to bore out the cylinder a few mm and get oversize rings. I haven't seen anything as far as high compression pistons available, but that is an option if it exists. I have one in my CRF250.
If you are reworking the head, I read about a DRZ125 cam swap that was drop-in, and removing the inner valve springs to help it rev more freely.
I don't have any personal experience, just things I've read... I tend to think that for reliability purposes it is usually a good idea to keep things close to stock.

The XF/XP200 and the DR200 engines are not exactly the same. The DR has larger valves and carb. If you can find them cheaply, I would swap in the DR head and carb. This might get the added performance you are looking for.
What happened to the motor? And the bigger question would be what caused it?

Just a side note on this.If you pull out the inner valve springs, the valves will float sooner, and possibly reduce the max rpm the motor can rev to without damage.

That would be a good upgrade plus installing the DRZ cam. It'd be like getting a full race head on the motor.A few people have added the sm28 pumper carb, like the older DR200, and gotten a little more power. There is a thread about it on advrider.com.I'm considering one of these bikes as I really like the DR200SE.So any up'em grades would be great.
Sorry for two post.I dunno how to multi quote here, yet.
