Just got a Lifan 250 cc from a friend but we don't know what model it is.
It's a 1995. First 3 vin numbers are: LF3. I think is a Delta model but not sure. Thanks in advance.

Hi Rudcar

Where are you located?

LF3 = Lifan.

This will tell the year for sure. What is the 10th digit in the VIN?

Thanks for the change SpudRider. :wink:
Ejcycles, I am in Homestead, FL. The 10 vin numbers are:
LF3PCN0G66
Originally in this forum I posted it was a 1995 Lifan. My mistake, it's a 2005.
I am trying to post a picture of the bike but I am a newbe and do not know how?

Actually, according to the VIN it's a 2006... (10th digit is the year code, 6=2006)

Hi Rudcar

That is a 2006 Lifan LF250. What manual do you need? If you want a service/repair manual you can get one at any Yamaha Dealer for a Route66, Virago 250, V-Star250. The Yamaha bikes are all the same. The Lifan uses over 90% the same parts... Hmmm... who makes the Yamaha??? LOL

Thanks for posting the helpful information, Bruce. :) Indeed, who does manufacture some of the Yamaha motorcycles? ;) The engine in my Zongshen 200GY-2 is almost an exact copy of the Yamaha, 196cc-223cc, engine block engines. I even put a Yamaha, XT200 cyclinder head on my Zongshen engine when I rebuilt the top end of it at 31,500 miles. ;)

If this bike is such a close clone of the Yamaha bikes you mentioned, I bet it represents an excellent value! :D

Thank you Bruce. I will check with Yamaha. That is very interesting information.
I have to check my Ford van and see if it was made in Russia or maybe...Afghanistan?? 8O
