If you own a Roketa DB07A check this link out and go through the fiche cards for a 1983 Honda XR200R. Looks AWEFULLY familiar right down to the crankcases and head parts. In fact I think Roketa copied these fiche cards for the pics that came in my parts Manual with the bike. I mean, they are identical. What are the chances???

I know the spokes are off. The rears for the Honda are 8 gauge 169mm. A little longer than the Roketa. And the front for the Honda are 9 gauge 239mm which again is too long and the Roketa is closer to 10 gauge.

It sure would be nice to know what they are using as the model for the hubs and spokes. I know it's not the '83 XR200R, though.

Other stuff looks close.....just not the stuff that has broken on mine.....like spokes...ugh!!! Good thing Bruce is on top of this fledgling market with parts for both the Roketa and Lifan. I've gone to him for spokes and he's been great!

Yeah, the spokes and wheels would be off since the Honda is drum brakes in the rear. I looked pretty closely at the engine, and it looks just like our OHC motors. Looks nearly identical. One noticable difference is bore and stroke. Our Zongshen motors are 63.5 mm bore (hence the 163 designation) and the Honda is like 66.5 mm, but still around 200 cc's. Sooooo, I'm thinking the honda cylinder on the Zongshen lower end with a custom piston would make a nice overbore. Hmmmm............. Never mind, I just calculated it out, still only makes about a 216 cc engine :( . Rats. I wonder if the XR350 cylinder bolts onto the XR 200 cases? OB1, have any insight???

Yeah I remember a little discussion on this from Thumpertalk. I think it was Pullin g's. He was saying that he had some of the same revelations but there was interchageablity with these engines. I can't remember all the details.

RED,

How bout maybe an oversized Weisco piston with an sleeve kit? Im sure it could be done...the question Im sure inst the top end but the bottom? could the bottom end handle the additional torque that just another 50cc will produce?

The last time I thought about a jug swap, the missus smacked me.

I think it would be easier to squeeze every bit of power out of the 200's through intake, exhaust, jetting and ignition mods. As heavy as the 200's are, weight reduction is also a good way to improve performance. Eat more salads, y'all!

Maybe a high comp piston could be found, didnt someone find one???

I am still a little unsure about the bottom ends on these, there are some rather odd vibrations. But I thrash the motor every time I ride the XR/LF 200, and no failures yet.

One of these days, I'll get a really good wheelie picture...

It can be done. I have a guy that has done just what you describe. How long the bottom end will hold up to it, only time will tell. This guy rides it REAL hard so if anyone can cause a bottom end faliure he's our guy. In stock form these Rocketa/Zongshens seem pretty bullit proof
