Yes I have done a search but have not found much infomation.

As some of you may know I have purchased a 2007 GY-5 for my father for fathers day, and waiting delivery within the next week or so. Knowing my dad he isnt gonna be into the Decals, so while I assemble it for him Id like to remove what decals that can be.

From what I have read some are sucessful and some are not. This being a new bike I dont wat to ruin the plastics. The impression I get is the plastics are painted and then clear coated. Im assuming that the stickers are not clear coated on there otherwise it would be impossible to remove them without ruining thr paint, correct?

So for those that were sucessful,,,,,,how did you get the decals off your bike....beyond a hair dryer and patience any recomendations?

No easy way to remove the stickers, they are clear coated...

The LIFAN stickers on the tank are easy to peel off.

The LIFAN printed on the seat can be removed with dirt grease and wax remover when appplied with some elbow grease ;)

There are numerous warning stickers that are simple to remove (on the tank, frame, and motor)

The big 5 on the headlight shroud, the GY on the tanks side covers, and the decals on the "cool-boy" plastic are all applied over the base coat, then cleared over... People do remove them, but then you will need to either re-clear, or re-paint.

My solution was to order a GY-2 front fender (looks better anyways in my opinion), and a GY-2 headlight piece, neither of which have any stickers.

All I have left is the GY on the tank sides, and the ones on the "cool-boy" plastic, but cool-boy already had a sticker over it.

After sanding and re-painting you could re-paint the same color...
Go look at my gallery and others to see what I/We have done...

Yeah alot of you guys have great looking bikes, the one thing I still want to do is to paint that coolboy plastic flat black. (and put on my bark busters)
