Phil and his family
Tuesday, August 03 @ 06:15:07 ADT by Administrator (114 reads)
News ItemAnonymous writes "To all of Phils "family" here at china riders, thank you for your prayers and support for Phils' family here in Virginia. The night before he went back to Lexington he made sure I read your posts on "a funny thing happened.." thread. He said more than once that week that you were all as close as family. I see now what he meant. I wanted to create an account, but as of yet have not recieved the confirm. email so I will post it as a news article.
My name is Jack and I was Phils pastor. Before that I was a friend of his father and mother and several years later his too. My eldest was on Phils Peanut Football team. His dad was one of the coaches . Phil was about 9 years old. He was quite a guy even then. He and his wife started attending our church again a few years ago, If Phil was in town, he came to church. I began to take my vehicles to his garage because he was buliding his business and came to our church. He was a very good mechanic who loved his work.
Phil had a lot of plans for the future, but he never dreamed that his was so short. He had not yet thought much about life insurance or burial plots, etc. because he was still building his business. Needless to say there are some tough times ahead though folks have been very giving. There has been a benefit gospel singing to raise money and the local bassmasters had bought a motorcycle to raffle off. They gave Pam the proceeds.
Another thing we have done is to set up a fund at a local bank. If you feel inclined to make a donation I will post the information.

First Bank and Trust
303 West Main st.
Wise, Va.    24293
ph. 276-328-3439

Thank you and may God bless you each and everyone.
Jack
