The stock controller which is rated for 50A and motor can handle more than the stock settings. Stock setup uses less than 30A. There are several guys that have done the mod and had no issues.

I'll also be looking into upgrading to 72v 40ah Lithium battery. Stock batteries are six 12v 20ah seal lead acid.

Good to hear! Makes me feel better about possibly buying one. So many of the "imported" electric bikes of any sort fall well below their rated wattage. Or if they are what they say they are, the controllers severely limit what the motor will do.

Definitely the LiOn upgrade will go a long ways for this bike. Faster charging and better range.

I've already spoken to one of the guys with Venom about why not order these bikes with a 3000w motor and LiOn battery. That would make it a better bike right out the box. He said he will definitely see about getting them that way. That's one thing i like about Venom Motorsports, They do want feed back on how to improve there products. You can see most of those upgrade in the newer bikes like 6 speed transmissions, EFI and proper sprockets for better gear ratios.

Well it's new bike day. According to tracking it is out for delivery. I'm just waiting on that call for when they get close by so i can receive the bike. :yay:

So here's the deal with ABF Freight. Bike was just delivered to my office. No one called to let me know. There was a big hole punched through the side of the box. Drive left it with one of the guys in our shop and left. I haven't opened up the box yet to access the damage. Looks like the box with charger took a hit. Very poor service. I paid for home tailgate delivery that Venom requested but was not provided by ABF. I didn't receive a called like ABF told me they would. I even emailed ABF first thing this morning to notify me at least a half hour before delivering to make sure I was here to except it. I've already contacted Venom to let them know what happened. They were already unhappy when I told them they said they couldn't deliver to my house. This delivery screw up has nothing to do with Venom. Apparently AFB in our area isn't the best because our shop guy said he had the same issues with ABF too. Nowhere near the Service of R&L.

That looks mighty interesting, but at $2000 and only 2000 watts, this thing is facing serious competition from electric bicycles. It comes with lead acid batteries? Yow. I think you're right, you need to get a lithium battery pack into that sucker, stat.

On the bright side, you can use the dumb batteries it came with to make yourself a quick and dirty battery spot welder...

I got the Bike registered and plated this afternoon in about 15 minutes. Now I need the rain to stop so I can go ride.

I think the new bike curse is over. Seems like every time I get a new bike it rains for days. lol I took her out for a short ride. Even with our crappy roads the bike rides fairly smooth. It doesn't feel like cheap ride on toy. lol It does have a good heavy feel to it and stays planted. Of course it only maxes out at 35 MPH. You can feel it has plenty of power but it's like it hit a speed limiter. Even up on the swingarm stand it still maxed out at the same speed so that proves it has a limiter. There must be some regulations or something that they have to limit the speed in order to be classified as a moped so you don't have to get a motorcycle license. Who knows? I'll fix that though. lol The shunt mod should gain roughly 15 mph from what I've read and watch on You Tube. I'll try that out over the weekend. Speedometer is about 10 mph off. The older Evaders speedo has an adjustment so that you can calibrate it. I took mine apart last night but no adjustment. You can see were it was to be located. I've already found a programable speedo that will be an exact fit and replacement. Even though it is limited, It still was a blast riding around town.

Just a little update. Between rain, music gigs on weekends and a recent battle with Covid I haven't had a chance to do much with the Evader. I finally did get to play around with the controller on Saturday morning. I had opened up the controller to do the shunt mode. Once i opened up the controller I noticed the mod was already done from the factory. I did add extra solder to the third shunt but didn't make any difference so all I could do is put it back together. While I had the controller out i got the manufacture and model number of the controller. With a little research i discovered that i can get a blue tooth adapter and controller app to make adjustments to the controller to get more power and speed. :yay: I got the adapter on order from Aliexpress as that was the only place i could fond one. As soon as i get the adapter I'll update on the progress.

Update! So I received my Bluetooth adapter a little over a week ago in hopes of being able to do some tunings and speedometer calibration. I spent countless hours trying to get the adapter to connect through the phone app with no luck. I messaging people on FB groups and You tube and the seller(Which Never Responded) and tried everything they told me but never was successful. When i pulled the side cover off to check connections, figuring that could of been an issue, i noticed that the adapter didn't even have the model number or manufactures name on it like it should. Typical counterfeit adapter that was nothing like the picture on the sellers page. I sent pictures and video to Aliexpress and was refunded my money within an hour. I order another adapter from QS Motors who is a reputable seller on Aliexpress. Hopefully this one works as should. Now another long wait for the slow boat from China.

It's been an while but finally have an update. This past month has been rough. I had to deal with the lost of my brother-in-law to Covid, My mom has been in and out of the hospital with a heart condition and the extreme heat has pretty much kept me indoors in the afternoons.

So as I mentioned previously the first adapter didn't work, turned out to be a counterfeit. Go figure, right? lol Aliexpress refunded my money immediately. I ordered a second adapter from a different vendor. It turned out to be a counterfeit too and didn't work. Another refund. I then ordered the adapter from Qsmotors who are the sellers of the motor and controller that come on this bike. It arrived in 7 days on FedEx from China. That's pretty quick. I hooked it up last night and work almost instantly. Even with my fan blowing on me full blast, i was soaking wet from the heat. Mind you it's dusk and temperature is still in the upper 90's with a heat index in the 110's. I'll play around with tuning early in the morning over the weekend. My main reason for getting the adapter was to calibrate the speedometer and get a little extra speed out of the Evader. I'm so glad i finally got one that works like it's supposed to. lol

Subscribed! Thanks for the vids, Jerry. I was thinking hard about electrifying my Simple Single Cruiser by Giant, and then I found the Hawk 250. The idea still floats around my feeble mind from time to time, but I just have this feeling that electric is going nowhere. It's just a bad idea. Great for RC sized stuff, terrible for full sized. It's gonna go the way of solar is how it feels. Especially when you consider NO ONE is buying full sized electric vehicles...unless they mandate it, or you lose your job if you don't buy one like they did with the vaccine.
