Looking at Motorcycle.com's dyno graph has me pondering the RC3's tuning. While a dyno on different days will provide a different result (and different types of dyno generate different results), typically the peak power and torque occurs at relatively the same RPM. But on the RC3, I'm seeing that peak HP occurs at 7,800 rpm, whereas the RX3 makes peak power at 9,000 rpm. And peak torque occurs at 6,000 rpm on the RC3 versus the RX3's 7,000 rpm. I wonder if this is due to tuning, the exhaust, or something else? But based upon the dyno session with my RX3, the power output compares very favorably to the CBR250R's output.

I thought it a good article with fair and balanced viewpoints. Of one particular was the mention of the 3 "F"s and how CSC/Zongshen is the Chinese game changer in the motorcycle market. I think for me that stuck out as a huge positive as it completely supports my personal findings on my RX3.

Completely agree, dpl096. I think the article came across fair and balanced as well. I do agree that the testers were impressed with the the fit and finish of the RC3. I've seen the prototype in person and it's stunning. Looking forward to other reviews!

I also thought it was a fair article. One thing that stuck in my head though was how most of them didn't like the snappy handling. The geometry is a bit odd but if it's the same frame geometry and setup as the RX3, I'm kind of shocked. The RX3 is about the most predictable handling and nimble motorcycle I've ever ridden. It acts exactly the same regardless of how far over you have it leaned.
Zong must have changed something somewhere in making the RC3.

Looks like the ECU mapping could use some refining on the RC3 by the looks of the bouncing Blue line

snappy handling changed a lot with tire selection from my experience.

I wonder if they sold any of the RC3? If they did the owners are not sharing any their experiences?

The RC3 raced Sunday and came in first in it's class, division, but I do not know how many other bikes in it's class were also entered in the race?
CSC Blog made a video of Sunday's action, but only showed the blue RC3 in front of one other bike?:hmm:

If you look on WERA's website, you can see the other riders racing in class:

http://maps.wera.com/results/showeve...c=271483624560

But at the beginning of the video, you can see that they were probably riding amongst other riders. And in the two straighaway video clips, you can see that Wheeler was up front and leading behind the second bike.

The F-Class group that Wheeler was riding in had 3 Kawasaki Ninja 250s and then Wheeler on the CSC RC3. Pretty darned impressive for Wheeler, CSC and Zongshen that the first time out, Wheeler was able to get in front, appear to hold the lead and win the race, beating 3 other Kawasaki Ninja 250s that had many more seasons to optimize their setup.

What does OTH mean? Other than honda?

This is great, shows that these bikes are for real! Congratulations roland!

 Yeah, I think it means "other than Kawasaki, Honda, Yamaha, etc.) But i think WERA will probably add "ZONG" to the list of manufacturers given Wheeler's performance. :)

Great showing for a first race.
Here's a link to the video.

Kinda noisy but some of the comments were interesting. Sounded as if Roland thought the bike had more in it. Change the pipe, go up a couple teeth on the rear sprocket, and a power commander. Didn't know there was a power commander option for this bike. Possible for the RX3 as well???

I would want to see everyone that raced post up a (true, no 'sand bagging') "Hot Lap Time" from each bike, it will tell a lot more of the bikes performance compared to the riders ability ;)
