Ram mount with a Garmin 60CSX has served me well over the years. If you can get used to the small screen it is damn near indestructible. It has a Great chipset and is very accurate even under the densest canopies. :tup:

Indeed, the Garmin, trail GPS receivers are practically indestructible. My eTrex Legend HcX has taken a lot of punishment, and it is still performing superbly. :tup:

My Garmin 60 has graced the handlebars of my last 7 bikes. I've never considered replacing it. Old tech for sure , kinda like a KLR , but it gets it done. It will soon be guiding me and my RX3 through the trails in Appalachia. :yay:

In the past the only downside to the Garmin GPS units was the high cost of topographic maps. However, since so many people use the Garmin units for adventure/trail riding, many free maps are now available for download. :) In particular, the high resolution, topographic maps at the following website are superb. :tup:

Even if you don't have a Garmin GPS receiver, you can still download Garmin Mapsource, or Garmin Basecamp for free, and use the free maps to plan your next ride/adventure on your computer. :)

If you install Google Earth on your computer, it will integrate with the Mapsource/Basecamp software, and show your tracks/routes superimposed on the satellite images. :tup: Using this feature, you can verify the accuracy of your route, and take a virtual ride via Google Earth before you leave your home. :)

Those are great tents Spud. You'll enjoy it's easy setup and take down. I have the 2-up. Had since 2011 Grand Canyon trip. Bigger then I need but it is nice to be able to bring all your gear inside once you set up camp at an area you'll spend a few days in. I can leave the panniers off the bike in there and still have room for my cot and chair. Looks like this one:

Not a good close up but you get the idea as you can see GPS behind the windscreen. This was taken at the Sound Rider Rally in Hood River Fairgrounds last August a few hours before going on my first ambulance ride and ICU over nighter for a kidney stone. Scratch that off the ol' bucket list :)

Thank you for validating my purchase, RJ. :) I will be using this tent for adventure touring on my Zongshen RX3, Zongshen ZS200GY-2 (Sierra), and Honda XR650L. The tents have a lifetime warranty, and the customer service from the manufacturer is reported to be excellent. :tup:

I bought the smaller tent because I don't plan to spend extended periods of time camping in the same spot, and I wanted to minimize the pack size, weight, and cost of the tent. ;)

Kidney stones are no fun. :ohno: Did you have to pass the stone, or did they crush it with lithotripsy?

I understand if people from warmer climates are disappointed, but I'm not in any hurry to get my RX3 until the weather warms up in Idaho. ;)

I'm purchasing this bike for my S America expedition in 2016, I'm in no hurry to get it. I'll probably leave the bike in S America after my trip. The price of this bike makes it very easy to abandon. To replace it is cheaper than shipping it back in many cases.
