'09 Qlink XP200
 

Hi Everyone,

I stumbled on this site a while back while I was looking for reviews and information on Qlink dual sports. Needless to say, I ended up purchasing one new for $1590 after reading all the praise on this board.

I've only put around 170 km on the bike so far but it runs better than I anticipated. I am eager to see how this bike holds up to some desert trails and light road use.

What is everyone's opinion on the proper way to break in this engine, it seems like I hear varying advice from every person/source I encounter.

I'll defer to the DS guys on your break-in question. Nice bike. 8)

Mine is up to almost 4,000 trouble free miles, almost all off road.

Your speedo cable will break soon. replace it with one for a Suzuki DR200SE. Other than that the bike will be as trouble free as the DR. They are built on the same assembly line in China.

The QLink break in procedeure is ridiculously conservative.

I say vary the speed and load and RPM a lot for the first 500 miles, don't let it get hot, don't use full throttle and then change the oil, check the valves, and go have fun.

BTW I think that trail riding is a good way to automatically break it in as these conditions come naturally there.

As Fastdoc said, the owner's manual specifies a very slow and long one which is hard to follow. I am a believer of the easy break in but others believe in the hard break in. Whatever. :D

The cheapest I found was my guy at 1750.00.....which is still a great price compared to list.

I agree with FastDoc. Vary the engine rpms, and don't rev the engine too high for the first 500 miles or so. Change the engine oil, then ride it like you stole it! :D Trail riding is a great way to break in the engine, just as long as you don't rev the engine too high for first 500 miles. ;)

Very nice bike. I came soooooo close to buying one. I couldn't make up my mind between the XP or XF, but ended up with something different. That price is great. The one I almost bought was almost twice the price.

Im glad I bought the XP, I think the XF seat height would have been too low for me. Not to mention I am surrounded by endless desert to explore.

Turns out that the XF and XP seat heights are about the same as JTC found out here

I just stopped by my China Bike Guy and he got in 2 more XF's.....and next to the XP, they looked smaller with the littler rims!
Weird.....

I would like to se an XP with the black motor and other parts though. I bet that would look sharp.

I'm not surprised the XF200 doesn't have a 31-inch seat height; I didn't know QLink advertised it as such. :roll: The XF200 and XP200 have different wheels; however, I was under the impression the two bikes shared the same frame, forks, and shock absorber. If only the wheels are different between the two suspensions, it seems logical the XF200 must be shorter than the XP200. ;)
