One more noob, Dandy Aus

Hi, I bought a pit bike second hand for my son and fixed it up, eventually fitting a replacement Lifan engine before it got stolen. I want him to get as much experience as possible before he gets his licence, so I picked up a kind of wrecked Xgroup 250 Trail bike which I have running but can't find plastics for and the ones on it are a bit of a mess.
He's having a great time on it, though the only adaptor for a PWK carb I could find left it over the exhaust which has burnt a hole in the bottom of the carb, so I'll have to TIG that up.
One of the first things I had to do was adjust the valve lash - the intake valve wasn't closing! Still more to do, so I might hang around here a bit. I think I have some to offer, and plenty to learn.
Does anyone know of someone regrinding camshafts for these... :D

Welcome.

Welcome to C-riders. Cam grinding service is generally much more expensive than replacement for these single cylinder bikes! So it could be difficult to find. Advance keys are available for performance. Is the cam worn badly? I know parts are more expensive in Aus, but $15 should cover a stock replacement cam. Maybe $25 if shipping is needed. Have you looked into that?

If you can tig the bottom of the carb ,you have the skills to cut up the intake and reweld it in a better position .
