Godspeed, John Glenn
Not much I can say other than another childhood hero has passed.

I am grateful he lived so long! My 17 year old son, aspiring to join the US Marines after high school graduation, is able to appreciate him. And my son was too young to appreciate when Glenn went BACK into space at 77 years old, but I remember like it was not too long ago. Funny thing is, I was just thinking about Glenn for some reason a few months ago, remembering when he went into space in the late 90's, and thinking that he "must be quite old now..." He was quite old and lived a VERY productive life until the end!

That's right, saw on the news. 95 years, we'll done senator!

I remember building his rocket model when I was a kid. Another American icon passes. 95 though. No complaints there. We should all be so fortunate.

I remember my in-laws saying that they could no longer do certain things, simply because they were almost 70. I advised them both that during that week, John Glenn had gone back into space at 77 years old. So awesome!

Hard to find modern heroes, but John Glenn was one of them.

I saw a report about how Glenn and Lindbergh paths crossed during world War 2. Arguably among the greatest explorers in human history.

So torn up over this one. 2016 really sucks all around... I can remember growing up on the movie "The Right Stuff", I think that has a lot to do with how I turned out (for better or for worse), and the career/hobby choices I made. I don't get to fly as much as I would like, and I certainly don't think there are any air speed records in my future, but it's certainly nice to know there were once people like him this world that weren't afraid to ride the rocket. Much more respectable that safe spaces and trigger warnings... Gods Speed, Mr. Glenn.
