Air Filter/Setup on 163fml 200cc

The air filter setup seems to be pretty restrictive on my bike. I was thinking about going with a cone filter hooked up directly to the carb. Right now it has a box that pulls in air and I don't think it is the most efficient for performance etc. Anyone know what size the standard carb is on the 163fml? Looking at amazon and want to order the correct size.

Better measure it. There were a couple different sized carbs used on the 200s.

Definitely measure your specific carb.

Yeah. Engineers spend time making those airboxes for no reason. Lol.

Did you know that on MANY factory bikes and ATVS that putting tape over the intake will in fact increase power? Do you think that engineers want their engines to be weak and inefficient?

Good engineers do, and it's a balance between noise reduction/reducing possibility of water intrusion/filter efficiency and performance.

Any 'engineers' that spent time designing the airbox on my Apollo didn't consider any factors beyond 'does it fit in the space'. And that seems par for the course for chinese bikes.

apples <> oranges.

I'm thinking about getting a pz30 carb but have read issues with jetting? Any info would be appreciated. One comes with a filter for $20 on amazon
