That looks like a good score. 8) That's the OHC engine, just like the Honda XR / XL200. Did you install the two lights, or are you using a single headlight? I bet those horns are crazy loud.

Where in the Bay Area are you. I was with Stanford/ Palo Alto Medical Clinic for six years. Lived in Fremont.

The traffic not so much.

Like you I used a motorcycle almost every day of the year to get around. A 1996 (new at the time...) Honda XR250L. A D/S is a great way to get around there and split lanes.

I was an expert lane splitter but I'm so glad I don't have to do that anymore.

My advise:

Stay OFF 680/880/280/ and the 101 with a 200cc bike!

Unless they are bumper to bumper don't ride where the speed limit is over 50. 55 MAX.

I live right next to Stanford in Los Altos Hills. I love it around here I can't wait to get my insurance finalized and get my permit. I live fairly close to skyline and have always wanted to ride up there. The horns are CRAZY loud. No I have not installed the headlights yet b/c it's going to be a month or so till I get my license and can legally ride at night, so to avoid temptation for now I'm more interested in tuning the carb. Yes I plan on staying off freeways for awhile I know how to get as far north as I'm comfortable travelling on back roads and highways. Are there any light trails in the area that you know of?

You live in one of the best places in the Bay Area. Big Bucks to live in the Los Altos Hills. 8)

Have a nice breakfast at Alice's on Sunday for both of us. Check out the San Gregorio and Pescadero beaches for me. Ride down 9 and out to Santa Cruz. Enjoy the scent of the giant redwoods.

I love the peninsula. Yes that's exactly what I'm looking for thanks. I will defiantly stop by Alice's for you. No I don't believe any offload trails for skyline just beautiful views and windy roads. I just moved back from college in Arizona after 5 yrs and know how you feel. I appreciate this the bay area so much more.

I don't miss the prices, crowds, traffic or restrictions on public/open areas but it can't be beat for year round beauty.

I suppose it's more of an ON road area than OFF road. I used to live to ride my mountian bike up Mission Peak, Mt. Diablo, Mt. Tam, and all the parks along Skyline. Too bad they don't allow dirt bikes, but I'm not surprised.

You always have Carnegie and Hollister and Metcalf, but only Metcalf is close to you.

I will check it out. I feel safer on dirt, it's a little big more forgiving then asphalt.
